Joaquin Saavedra

I’m the Co-Founder & CEO of Edge Audio Labs, where we build audio software that feels as good as it sounds.

With a background that blends real-time audio development, DSP, acoustics, and music, I’ve spent the past few years helping turn ambitious audio ideas into real, commercial-grade tools. From VST/AU/AAX plugins to AI-powered pipelines and custom DSP systems, I love solving complex problems and creating products musicians actually want to use.

Before launching EAL, I worked as a tech lead and CTO across multiple projects, taught DAW systems at ORT University, and mixed everything from theatre shows to live concerts. Whether it's writing C++ or mentoring a dev team, I care deeply about craft, clarity, and building things that truly make an impact.

As a founder, I balance the technical and business sides of the work, leading a growing team, supporting clients, and staying hands-on wherever I can.

Sound Over Boilerplate - Accessible Plug-Ins Development With Phausto and Cmajor - Domenico Cipriani - ADCx Gather 2025

Complex programming languages, build tools, and code signing processes create barriers that prevent musicians and sound artists from developing audio plugins.

Phausto addresses this challenge as a free, open-source DSL built on Pharo Smalltalk's accessible syntax and integrated IDE. It integrates the Faust compiler for direct access to professional-grade oscillators, filters, and effects, while seamlessly exporting to Cmajor patches for rapid plugin deployment.

This session introduces Phausto fundamentals and demonstrates workflows for shipping Cmajor-based plugins using free tools. We'll explore distribution models that enable sound artists to independently share and monetize their creations.

Domenico Cipriani

Domenico Cipriani (aka Lucretio) is a minimalist dance music producer and sound researcher with over 100 vinyl releases and performances at iconic clubs including Berghain, Tresor, Rex, and Fabric. He is co-founder of the influential label Restoration, a key player in the vinyl resurgence of the late 2000s.
Holding an M.A. in Linguistics from the University of Padova, Domenico bridges research and music technology. Since discovering Symbolic Sound Kyma in 2016, he has specialized in Open Sound Control protocols.
He currently conducts computer music research with the Inria EVREF team in Lille and develops audio plugins with the indie company Soft Computing, all while remaining active as a DJ and live performer.
Domenico is also the creator of Coypu and Phausto. With Coypu, he has performed at the International Live Coding Conference in Shanghai (2024) and Barcelona (2025).

Teaching Audio Developers How to Build AI-Enhanced Audio Plugins - Matthew Yee-King - ADC 2024

In this talk I will reflect on my experience as an educator, developer and musician working with AI and music technology. I have used many technologies, from Java applets to SuperCollider, Web Audio API and onto C++ and JUCE. I will then describe an educationally focused workflow for the development of AI-enhanced audio plugins that I am currently using for teaching and research/ development work. The workflow utilises C++, JUCE, CMake, PyTorch and RTNeural and has been designed to support educators, students and developers who wish to learn about the integration of AI and machine learning technology into real-time audio applications. I will also present various example plugins I have built using the workflow: a MIDI improviser, a neural network synthesizer controller and neural effects unit.

Matthew Yee-King

Matthew Yee-King is a professor in the Department of Computing at Goldsmiths, University of London, and served as a visiting professor at the Politecnico di Milano in 2024. He is the programme director for the UoL Worldwide Computer Science Programme, launched in 2019 as the first undergraduate programme on the Coursera platform, which has since attracted nearly 10,000 students from 125 countries. His research focuses on education technology, particularly AI-enhanced systems, and the application of AI to digital signal processing and music performance. In 2024, his book "Build AI-enhanced Audio Plugins with C++" was published by Routledge. Additionally, Matthew is an accomplished musician who has performed, recorded, and collaborated with internationally renowned jazz and electronic musicians such as Aphex Twin, Tom Skinner (Smile band), Matthew Herbert, and Squarepusher.
