  Most music software is designed around the moment a piece of music becomes a production: a timeline, a session, a collection of tracks. But a lot of musical work happens elsewhere. Ideas begin as voice notes, hums, whistles, MIDI noodles, visual references, conversations and demos. Later on, finished recordings escape the DAW again and become rehearsals, performances, releases, visuals and plans. These stages are collaborative, spatial and often chaotic, yet the tools used to support them are rarely designed with musicians in mind.
