The Client is (not) Always Right
Arguably the most important non-technical skill as a developer is the ability to communicate effectively. This skill is even more important when dealing with an interdisciplinary team, or clients from a non-technical background. In the audio world this ability is challenged further by the problem that many musical and audio terms are not well defined or can be highly subjective. We also have to navigate some stubborn myths about audio and technology, which can make specifying a project difficult.
This talk will look at pitfalls and solutions when it comes to communicating effectively in projects that are both technical and creative. We will look at common sources of miscommunication so that we can deal with them early and ideally prevent them.
