A live audio signal contains overlapping harmonics, noise, resonance, attacks, decays, bends and multiple plausible explanations for the same spectrum given the context of the music signal is being taken into account. For a procedural music system like Contrapunk, these mistakes are amplified: one false note can trigger an entire generated harmony. How do we make sure that the generation is accurate and real time ?
