Principal Software Engineer

Spitfire Audio

About Me

Hello. I am a principal software engineer at Spitfire Audio. I have studied Signal Processing at the Technical University of Berlin. Since then I have worked in various companies, a lot of them not in the audio sector. Through out that time I have developed a strong interest in test-driven development as well as other 'agile' software development processes, but I'm still my happiest when messing around in the audio buffer. In my spare time I play bass in my band the 'Cherry Pit Collective' or play bike polo with my mates or guide a d&d group through an adventure. I also enjoy cooking and reading.

A lot of people have heard of unit testing. Many developers have added unit testing to their procedures. But not so many have tried test-driven development and understand how to build a rock solid test bed, that eventually allows you to throw your code away and replace it with whatever is more readable, more scalable, less resource intensive or better performing. The ‘lazy tester, lazy developer’ pattern is a fun way to explore this important topic.
