Building an AI-Native, Collaborative, Browser-Based DAW for Producers of All Levels

We walk through the various approaches companies are taking to introducing AI into production workflows (for example, Neuton’s Morpho, Roex, Udio and Suno) and the challenges they’re facing including . We also discuss what creativity and productivity represent for a producer, what ‘real’ means, and how new technologies should think about ethics and integrity. We’ll also look at how Riffle (https://riffle.studio) is building an AI-native, realtime collaborative DAW.

The talk will go through the following topics:

  • A quick industry-wide breakdown of AI-enabled tools, from songwriting, to arranging, to tracking, mixing and mastering. We’ll also look at adoption of these technologies, by both indie artists and freelance producers, and studio-backed producers.
  • A technical outlook, including building for the browser, real-time collaboration, and ai-nativeness.
  • A case for ethics, creativity, and legality for AI in music production
  • Introduction to Riffle, and a demo of its usage.
